great information, Paul - thank you so much for sharing! so critical especially now

01:28:09
It was my pleasure to do so! Glad to be able to share.

01:30:43
As an accountant I like to quantify ideas. So Paul is there a general way (% of revenue,# of computers) to determine the cost to evaluating and then implementing the foundation you talked about?

01:32:12
Hello Cindy,

01:39:03
Every situation is very unique. When planning for such a foundation, my goal is always provide the best protection possible. Costs often matter but I try to focus on the importance and need of what we are doing. If the stakeholders do not understand what they are buying, there is always resistance. So we focus on education, creating value and after designing a solution, we get into costs. Sometimes we have to scale back from there, sometimes I am able to convince that the budget should be increased. But I don't see a simple way to determine cost.

01:40:04
Hi Andrea. I saw your question about Planned Giving and want to answer that directly in chat in case some people have to leave early. Great question - as the next 20 years will see the greatest intergenerational transfer of wealth in our country’s history. A couple of quick and easy things you can do to encourage planned giving: 1) Make sure your donors know about the opportunity and how to do it. The easiest way to do this is to put information on your “support us” or “donate now” webpage. The information should focus on how donors can support your organization by making a bequest and provide simple language for them to “Copy & Paste” (thank you again Larry Tesler!). I just googled “Bequest language for nonprofits” and got a bunch of examples. 2) If you have a donor who has included you in their planned giving, consider creating a story for your newsletter where you interview them and ask them about what inspired them to do this. It all goes back to storytelling and inspiring others.

01:42:02
Hi David, when trying to encourage executive management, I think it is important to educate them. Through conversation, webinars, etc. Also, by meeting with experts who can offer advise, present examples, share statistics and success stories.

01:42:22
Hi Jennie - Such great information. Thank you for sharing. Good to see you. :)
